Lake District
THE LAKE DISTRICT
The English Lake District
provides excellent opportunities for adventurous
activities. The scenery is spectacular and possibilities
for days on the mountains and the lakes are limitless.
We offer experience and
knowledge of the area to provide for you what you want,
whether that is the whole package (guiding, gear,
accommodation, transport, food and drink), or just
helping you get yourselves sorted out.

Sample Itinerary
Hike / Bike Weekend
or Week
Friday:
Arrive at your leisure. If you’re in time for activity
in the afternoon that can be arranged to suit! Evening
meal and briefing.
Optional Night exercise. Navigation or familiarisation.
Saturday:
Mountain Day. Striding Edge and Helvellyn. Some
fantastic Grade 1 scrambling and much of the day spent
on spectacular ridges. Ascend up to Red Tarn, then by
Striding Edge to the Helvellyn summit. Down via Swirral
Edge. An 8 hour day to be followed by a well-earned
drink and a good meal!

Sunday:
Mountain Biking. The 10
mile new North Face Trail in Grizedale Forest takes
about 3 hours to complete. It can be combined well with
some of the existing trails in the Forest. If you’ve
more time, the best sections of it can be repeated. It
is a purpose-built bike track with plenty of single
track. It would however be rated a ‘green run’ and is
suitable for riders with a decent level of fitness and a
good mountain bike. Finished by 4 pm so as to give you
plenty of time to get home!

The Lake District also
offers excellent cross-country riding on existing Bridle
Ways both in the National Park and in the nearby Howgill
Fells. Not least is the ‘fastest’ downhill ride in
England, running from the summit down into Sedbergh
village.

Its all
downhill from here - the ‘fastest’ in England
